Microsoft Translator App - Android Not Translating Voice

Hello,

First question: Has the Microsoft Translator app on Android and/or iOS been discontinued? I can't find anything concrete on this, but the Android app looks to last have been updated in May 2023, and the iOS app in May 2024. I want to know whether we need to find a new solution in our school district going forward, but I can't find any documentation on this. Additionally, official Microsoft documentation seems outdated when it comes to Translator as well, as it still details instructions for the Windows 10 app which has been removed a while ago.

Second question: We have teachers using Chromebooks running the Android app of Microsoft Translator with their students. Just recently, we're getting reports that the voice speech is no longer being translated into the desired language. I confirmed this today while troubleshooting with a faculty member. It still works when starting a conversation from the iOS app. Is there any fix for this? As I mentioned previously, it looks like the Android app in itself is quite outdated, but it was apparently working until very recently.

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated as I have a lot of teachers who leverage this tool. Thanks!

    Good morning,

Thank you. I submitted feedback to the email provided on 12/11/2024. It just feels like this app is being left for dead without comment and if that's indeed the case, it would be nice/helpful to get some sort of official word as our district is weighing purchasing new iOS devices because it seems to still be working. But if this app is just going to stop working as the Android version has, that would be a wasteful purchase, plus who knows how long it would even work.
