Cannot write properly on PowerPoint with my stylus

I am a student who often writes information/notes on my ppt slides using my stylus on Microsoft PowerPoint android. I face a problem while writing. at random:

  1. I may drag a text box and my keyboard pops out, and I have to stop my annotations abruptly
  2. I may drag an object, and what I was currently annotating gets distorted.
  3. I duplicate the object or annotation I accidentally selected

Someone else posted this thread and I am facing the same issue. I have a s6 tab lite and this began recently. This problem occurs on all my presentations.

I have tried resetting Microsoft and restarting my tap multiple times. I have uninstalled and re-installed PowerPoint and nothing seems to be working.

I have placed a google drive link with videos of how it looks. I hope it helps and you can access it.

    Hey Mia,

Thank you for the quick response. I have no problem with Samsung Notes or when I use www.office.com. The problem seems to be from the app. I can not say with certainty. I have tried to contact tech support but they are currently not working now in my region. I will try later today.

    Thanks for the help

    Hi Miss. TC Joseph,

I went through your post carefully and it seems like when you use pen writing on presentation, it will randomly appear some unexpected actions. If so, may I know if switch to other apps will still reproduce the issue? For example, the Samsung notes app, or write on presentation from www.office.com in browser which helps to exclude the effects from local environment as that is cloud-based environment.

If the issue persists across all apps and environment on the tablet, since currently there has no related pen reset options for PowerPoint on Android environment, there may have less troubleshooting suggestions we can provide you here to further investigate this behavior. However, to make sure you can get the dedicated support from engineers that can make remote sessions to collect the deep backend logs from PowerPoint and device system, and investigate further to locate the root cause of unusual behavior start happening recently and find a way to prevent this from happening again, I suggest you contact the Microsoft online support team where engineers there can provide the further support resources for your scenario and involve more resources to investigate the issue from the backend. This would be the most efficient way to handle this case for you on your s6 device.

Please accept my apologies and regret that I did not resolve the issue and redirected you to the related development MS Online Support Team, but the solution to your concern can be found through the backend logs and we are redirecting it to the right support channel to solve the problem.

Meanwhile, I will make sure to keep your thread open and see if there will have some more users reporting the similar scenario which can raise the more attention from the related Office for Android product team to get informed the potential s6 pen reaction issue.

Your understanding and patience will be greatly appreciated. I hope you stay safe and healthy!

    Sincerely,

    Mia | Microsoft Community Moderator
