Hi,

I’m working on improving the user experience on my SharePoint page and would appreciate your help.

My page is designed to document roles within the organization, and it includes several web parts like About Us, Communications, Finance, etc., each linking to different pages. However, right now, if I want to navigate between them, I have to go back to the homepage each time, which is a bit inconvenient.

I’m looking to create a navigation tab with a dropdown feature at the top of the page. This will make it easier for users to quickly navigate to the different web parts without needing to return to the homepage. The navigation tab should be visible as users move through the page.

Just to clarify, this navigation tab would be separate from the main site app navigation from Sharepoint (with Conversations, Documents, Notebook, etc.) which can be edited in the Gear "change look", that is different. I just want a navigation tab for my created site page.

Could you guide me on how to set this up, or if possible, help me create it? If pictures can be provided that would be awesome.

Based on your description, it seems like you want to create a navigation tab with a dropdown feature on your SharePoint page so that this will significantly enhance the user experience in your organization by allowing easy access to different sections without returning to the homepage.

As far as I know, I’m afraid and sorry to say currently there’s no build-in settings to meet this requirement in SharePoint Online besides the Navigation bar edition: How do you create drop down sections in SharePoint? - Microsoft Community (a thread similar as your demand) and other users also have similar feedback about it. For this limitation you’ve encountered, I do understand the necessity of it and sorry for lacking this kind of persisting drop-down navigation bar feature in SharePoint on created site pages.

Personally, I’m totally agree and understanding the necessity and convenience of being able to have such a quick access bar which offer site members a better experience on bowering various webparts and contents, and it is definitely great addition to the current availabilities of SharePoint Navigation feature. Due to this situation, I sincerely recommend you go to Feedback community to vote this similar feedback: Create a Dropdown list for easy navigation to different contents · SharePoint Feedback Community or you can post your own feedback post in the Feedback community: SharePoint · Feedback Community (microsoft.com). Our product team is in charge of the site, and they constantly check customer reviews and feedback, The higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay on.
