Hi William ,
Thanks for visiting Microsoft Community.
I comprehend the issue at hand and will endeavor to assist you in investigating and resolving it to the best of my ability.
Regarding the error message on your Android tablet's Office application stating, "A work account associated with this email was found," the most probable cause is:
Any Microsoft application on the device has logged into a work/school account, or an email address previously associated with a work/school account has been linked to the device (e.g., Teams), leading to issues with the recognition of your personal account.
In response, I recommend the following steps in sequence:
- The simplest approach is to uninstall and reinstall the Microsoft 365 application to see if normal login can be restored post-reinstallation.
- If the first step does not resolve the issue, proceed to the settings on your tablet, locate the list of installed applications, and for each Office application, including Word, clear the application data, then uninstall and reinstall them.
- If you have already performed step 2 for all Office applications and the error persists, this indicates that there is still an application on the device containing cached information of a Microsoft work account, possibly applications like OneNote, Teams, Skype, Outlook, Edge, OneDrive, To Do, etc., which require logging into a Microsoft account. Please check if any of these applications have credentials for a work account logged in. If so, log out and clear the credential information, and perform step 2 on them as well.
I look forward to any updates or progress you can share with me.
Best Regards,
