OneDrive app is crashing every time I open it on iPad

My OneDrive app on my iPad Pro 13 (OS 18.3.2) continually crashes. I have reinstalled it over and over, cleared the account settings multiple times and nothing is working. I have tried signing into multiple OneDrive accounts (home, school and work) and the app opens up in a frozen screen for about a minute and then crashes and closes. I have plenty of storage on my ipad and OS is updated.

Finally, seems the latest update has fixed the issue. The app seems to run smoothly. This is good but it cannot change my decision to go away from Microsoft. Until the very last E-mail I dealt with the help desk, the guys kept pointlessly asking for my error logs.

I am familiarizing myself with LibreOffice right now and it is OK. (Well, at least it is free of charge, what else can I say?) In addition to the 1TB space oneDrive offers, I have been subscribing to mega.nz which has 8TB. Since I am going to discontinue my Microsoft subscription, I can use this money to upgrade mega.nz to 16TB, the ROI is far better.

Farewell and RIP Microsoft, I won't miss you.

    Yes, i feel for you!!!

One would think these silly, amateur hour coding issues would've been forgotten in the 90s, but here we are.

This kind of nonsense gas been going on too long and sorry, but the support staff, from my extensive experience, can barely comprehend such issues much less resolve them beyond their standards clipboard response. Anything beyond that and GUARANTEED, 100% the chat goes eerily quiet. Never to be heard from again.

Don't tell me, they recommended you add the request to the "wishlist" or whatever they call it these days.

I'm in the process from moving off the microsoft platform. Enough of this amateur stuff

I am not sure if it was the iPad update or the OneDrive update or the combination...

...I have tried emailing Microsoft but got the canned response of try this and try that. We have tried everything multiple times Microsoft has said, or various Google searches for other past problems. I even erased the iPad and started from fresh to rule out a bug. Nothing!...

...This is beyond frustrating. All because maybe someone from Microsoft programmed bad code on Mircosoft's end. And we have to waist to see if they will ever change it or take responsibility. And because it's possibly only effecting large 13" iPad Pro's... it may never really reach their radar or care to correct. Most people I assume use smaller iPad's and if this is a unique screen resolution error -- it may not be corrected for a long time!

I see no problem with mega.nz and Dropbox after iPad OS update, so it should be quite obvious that it is Microsoft's problem.

It is very irritating that their help desk has sent me about 7 emails, requesting my error logs every time. Their reason is that "each device has its own configuration settings and they want to isolate the problem" and I think it is just totally pointless. I am not paid for testing their software.

I have been subscribing Microsoft 365 with oneDrive, but if they are incompetent as such, I think I will discontinue and go for something else. Google Suite, Libre Office can replace Office, while Dropbox and mega.nz are more reliable cloud storage than this ****.

So I noticed this issue. Been dealing with it for weeks. This worked fine on the 13" iPad Pro with newer software for many months that we owned 6 of them for the company. It wasn't until we did the latest iPad software update (minor update) and the typical app updates (which OneDrive had one) that all chaos broke out. I am not sure if it was the iPad update or the OneDrive update or the combination. Based on the comments I just read -- it would appear to be a OneDrive code issue causing this. But under ALBUM view, things seem to work ok. The moment we go to FILES where we typically view the folders and the photos that are organized by name... the iPad freezes, then crashes. The files never actually appear or pull-up. After about 10-15 seconds of freezing initially, the iPad will crash. Each time I close the app and restart the iPad and go into the app, it freezes and crashes. If I remove the app and restart the iPad and download the app again, I can typically get it to open again. But if I touch the "FILES" tab it all crashes again. I have tried emailing Microsoft but got the canned response of try this and try that. We have tried everything multiple times Microsoft has said, or various Google searches for other past problems. I even erased the iPad and started from fresh to rule out a bug. Nothing! We have an older, smaller 10" iPad using the older iOS and no issues at all. Works like usual. We rely on the OneDrive (which we pay for storage) to keep 1000's of photos organized by name to show clients -- which is also linked to our website. The "ALBUM" option is not a good solution. Photos are organized differently by date, appear smaller on the screen, and just a mess. When we first discovered the problem we must have been the early ones because there was no mention online. Until now I see this post with 40+ people commenting. For time being we shifted our photos to "ALBUM" section and told everyone to "not touch" FILES tab. The iPad will work with ALBUMS - although not very desirable. But today, we had someone forget and touched "FILES" and now their iPad app is frozen/crashes and can't be used. This is beyond frustrating.
