A family of Microsoft presentation graphics products that offer tools for creating presentations and adding graphic effects like multimedia objects and special effects with text.
Dear Olivia Driskill,
Good day. Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community.
Based on your description, it appears that you’re facing an issue with the audio recording functionality in PowerPoint on your iPhone. Currently, Presenter’s View and the Record Slide Show feature are not fully available in PowerPoint for iOS, which limits the ability to record voiceovers directly within the app. Here's a workaround to help you get around the issue and record a voice-over for your presentation:
Use Screen Recording with Microphone
- Open your Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner (on newer iPhones) or swiping up from the bottom (on older models).
- Press and hold the Screen Recording button, and make sure the Microphone Audio is enabled (tap the microphone icon to turn it on).
- Start your PowerPoint presentation in Presenter’s View.
- Tap the Screen Recording button to begin recording your screen and voice at the same time.
- Present your slides while speaking. When you finish, stop the screen recording. The video will be saved in your Photos app, and you can share it or edit it as needed.
Presenter’s View is optimized for desktop use, and PowerPoint on iPhone may not provide the full functionality to record voice-overs while using this mode. You can have a look on the article about record a slide show.
If possible, use the desktop version of PowerPoint, where you can fully utilize the Record Slide Show feature for seamless voice-over recording.
Here I want to mention that, if this feature is essential for your workflow, I highly recommend submitting feedback to the Microsoft Feedback Community. Your input helps the development team prioritize feature updates.
I appreciate your understanding and patience.
Best Regards,
Sophia
