The responses from Forms are no longer automatically syncing to Excel.
I received an email stating, "Please update your form before January 13, 2025 to continue seeing the most recent Forms data in Excel with the new and improved sync. If you don't update, your responses won't continue to sync after this date. To start the update, open your Form from forms.office.com or click the button below. Thanks for using Forms."
After updating, I saw the message in Excel: "The sync with Forms has been updated. This workbook will continue to sync with the latest responses from Forms. The updated sync currently works only in Excel for the web and will soon be available on desktop. Once responses are synced, you will be able to view them on both web and desktop. This update cannot be undone."
However, even after the update, it does not sync unless I open Excel in the browser.
I would like it to sync automatically again without having to open it in a browser like before.
Does "it will soon be available on desktop" mean that eventually, it will sync automatically without having to open Excel?
How long should I wait?
By the way, since the Forms were created from a Teams channel, they are likely group forms.

Sorry about being thick. Why do you have two flows. Why could the one flow not do both?

I understand your concern and to my knowledge, I am sorry to convey that the currently the Microsoft Forms with New Sync will only update the responses for the Form to the Excel workbook when it’s opened in the Excel for the web and there is no ETA when the automatic sync will be implemented with the New Sync in the Microsoft Forms for updating the responses automatically without opening the responses Excel workbook.
I agree with you on the inconvenience caused and having the ability to automatically sync the responses of the Form to the Excel workbook without opening it will benefit the users and I suggest you add your valuable ideas as feedback in the Microsoft Forms · Community which is the best place to share our ideas and improve the Microsoft products.

I share the same concern as the user who posted this topic, but, your answer doesnt fully cover the question, because, the sync we are talking about is not an improvement from what we have, but a decrease in performance, because the previous forms online was able to sync automatically at least to the online excel file. (which makes sense).
So, what we have now, after Microsfot forms changes is a diminished utility of the application. if doesnt sync automatically is practically useless, its the same as downloading a copy.
Thats why I would like to undertand the ETA to recover the utility of the app,not to get some new feature.

I am also facing the same issue. By this new sync update, the Microsoft Forms have become useless for me.

I have a similar issue, my form does sync, but not all of the information from the form appears in the file. Some information simply does not appear, even when entered in the form. How can I fix this?
