The responses from Forms are no longer automatically syncing to Excel.
I received an email stating, "Please update your form before January 13, 2025 to continue seeing the most recent Forms data in Excel with the new and improved sync. If you don't update, your responses won't continue to sync after this date. To start the update, open your Form from forms.office.com or click the button below. Thanks for using Forms."
After updating, I saw the message in Excel: "The sync with Forms has been updated. This workbook will continue to sync with the latest responses from Forms. The updated sync currently works only in Excel for the web and will soon be available on desktop. Once responses are synced, you will be able to view them on both web and desktop. This update cannot be undone."
However, even after the update, it does not sync unless I open Excel in the browser.
I would like it to sync automatically again without having to open it in a browser like before.
Does "it will soon be available on desktop" mean that eventually, it will sync automatically without having to open Excel?
How long should I wait?
By the way, since the Forms were created from a Teams channel, they are likely group forms.

Sorry about being thick. Why do you have two flows. Why could the one flow not do both?
I opened a support ticket for this (see below), based on the support ticket response, Microsoft likely removed the auto-sync feature from MS Forms to reduce server load and associated costs from continuous background syncing, as the product group has confirmed it as a deliberate change with no plans to reinstate it.

Same here, this has effectively killed numerous workflows for us and going through one-by-one to create a Power Automate Flow just to do something the product used to do on it's own is ridiculous and unrealistic.
Microsoft PLEASE FIX THIS! You have broken your own product in a supposed "upgrade"
Microsoft must fix this bug and correct ASAP.
I 100% agree that this was a really poorly thought out "upgrade" and essentially made worthless hours of work I put in to allow our users and external patients to fill out forms that once automatically created beautiful power BI reports and now have to be manually opened on a routine basis to have up to date information. Microsoft needs to take these concerns seriously and come up with a fix rather than tell users we just need to put in a suggestion to "add functionality". YOU had the functionality there. Your *upgrade* broke the functionality that was working well. MICROSOFT needs to address this as a bug and correct it ASAP.
