The responses from Forms are no longer automatically syncing to Excel.
I received an email stating, "Please update your form before January 13, 2025 to continue seeing the most recent Forms data in Excel with the new and improved sync. If you don't update, your responses won't continue to sync after this date. To start the update, open your Form from forms.office.com or click the button below. Thanks for using Forms."
After updating, I saw the message in Excel: "The sync with Forms has been updated. This workbook will continue to sync with the latest responses from Forms. The updated sync currently works only in Excel for the web and will soon be available on desktop. Once responses are synced, you will be able to view them on both web and desktop. This update cannot be undone."
However, even after the update, it does not sync unless I open Excel in the browser.
I would like it to sync automatically again without having to open it in a browser like before.
Does "it will soon be available on desktop" mean that eventually, it will sync automatically without having to open Excel?
How long should I wait?
By the way, since the Forms were created from a Teams channel, they are likely group forms.

Sorry about being thick. Why do you have two flows. Why could the one flow not do both?
Same thing for me now. All my power automate flow are disrupted.
Why would Microsoft force an update that doesn't think about the effect to their other application in the ecosystem.
This is just plain unprofessional.

I have this issue as well and the only way that I have found to work around this nonsense of not automatically syncing (unless I open the excel form on the web) is to manage access to the excel file giving everyone access to 'edit' the file versus view. When the users then open the excel form, it will sync for them as well.
Pretty disappointed with this update as it definitely decreases the usefulness of this application.

I have a question regarding the changes to Microsoft Forms syncing behavior with Excel.
Since the recent update, we are facing significant disruptions in our workflow, and I would appreciate further clarification.
These updates have significantly impacted our workflow:
Previously, I used Power Query in Excel to extract data from Forms response Excel files stored in OneDrive for Business. This method allowed me to efficiently consolidate data from multiple Forms into a single Excel file, which we use for visualization and reporting on our dashboard. However, since the update to the new sync method, this process no longer works. I can't keep open all the forms every hour to make the live screens show the latest information.
The inability to maintain an automatically updated summary file became a major challenge for us. I understand from your previous answer that there is no ETA for when desktop Excel will support automatic syncing.
In the meantime, we are using a workaround that involves Power Automate to add a row to an Excel file whenever a new response is submitted in a form. Additionally, another flow updates the file automatically in OneDrive every minute.
However, I would like to know if there are any planned updates or alternative solutions to restore the seamless automation we had before.

We rely heavily on Forms in our environment, and the lack of automatic syncing between the new Forms and their associated spreadsheets is going to create significant challenges for us.
