the link to a sway is not pubicly available anymore

One month ago I designed a Sway and shared a link that is publicly available to anyone. I tested the link and it worked for those who do not work for the same company. However, today, people cannot open the link without signing in.

Did Microsoft change the settings in Sway?

    I'm glad to hear that this issue has been resolved now.

    If the Sway link encounters any problems again during your regular checks in the future, please don't hesitate to send a reply. Since you are using a university account, I will move this thread to the corresponding section at that time, so that the relevant team with permissions for organizational accounts can further investigate the issue.

    Dear Lucia,

    Thank you for getting back to me.

    • I made a Sway and I log in using my University account.
    • No, those who tried to open the link did not use a company/university account.

    But I am happy to announce that as of today, the link is working again. Different persons (internal and external) tried to open the link and we did not encounter the problem anymore. This issue took place for at least 5 days. We will check regularly if the link will still work.

    I realize that you have encountered a problem that the shared link for Sway is only available when users log in. I understand how you feel. 

    Since the settings for sharing Sway links are related to account types, I’d like to first confirm the type of Microsoft account you and others are using.

    • Do you log in to Sway using a personal account or an organizational account at your company or school?
    • You mentioned “it worked for those who do not work for the same company.” Are these people who received the shared link also using company accounts?
