Data duplicated mistakenly across multiple tabs

I have a 2024 spreadsheet with a different tab for each week. I have different data in each tab.

For 2025 I simply duplicated the file and renamed it. Then I cleared the data from the first week in order to enter new data. Somehow I cleared the data from all weeks, which was fine, but when I entered new data for week one of 2025 it was duplicated across all 52 tabs.

I'm assuming this is something I did, but I have no idea how to undo it. Version 16.77.1 on a Mac.

Dear Jonh,

Do you mistakenly select all sheets via the Command key? If yes, the issue may happen.

I suggest you ungroup the sheet tabs to see whether the issue happens.

If you do a test with a new file, what's the result?

Does the issue happen suddenly? If yes, what did you do before the issue happened?

It seems that the version number of Excel for Mac you are using is a little old. If it is convenient, I suggest you update the version number, restart the Mac and then do a test to see the result.

Thanks...The grouping issue sounds like it might be the issue. I selected all. in an effort to ungroup. The only group selections I see is under the Data tab. When I select that there is no option to ungroup..

In some situations, some issues may be related to the version number of the Excel for Mac application. Keeping the version number latest is a good way preventing some issues at work. It seems that the version number of Excel for Mac you are using is a little old. If it is convenient, I suggest you update the version number, restart the Mac and then do a test to see the result.
