Powerpoint slides disappeared after not saving a copy

I have done some powerpoint slides in June this year for a diary for my holiday. When I was finished with all the slides on the last day, I checked the number of slides and it said ‘93’ slides. But now in December when I checked they only saved until 50-60 slides, so the other 40 slides were gone. It said last modified on 10 June, but that was halfway through my holiday. On 10 June 2024, I remember that the presentation were accidentally deleted by me but I managed to recover it. A few days ago when I checked that presentation, it had all the 93 slides and it said that ‘my changes can’t be saved and I have to save a copy’ but I did not because I thought that something will happen. But now, the ‘save a copy’ tab is gone. Please help!

I realized that you have encountered a problem with recovering an PowerPoint file. I understand how difficult it is to lose important data.

I notice that you posted in iPhone or iPad section. I would like to know where this file is stored?

1 -> If it's stored in OneDrive, you can try:

Search for your files in the OneDrive online. If you can find the file, right-click it and select "Version history". See if an earlier version has all 93 slides and recover it.
Look in the Recycle Bin. Visit OneDrive online. On the left side of this page, select Recycle Bin. If you find the PowerPoint file, select it and choose Restore.
If you're a Microsoft 365 subscriber, you can use OneDrive's file recovery feature to undo all the actions you've taken on photos and folders in the last 30 days. For step-by-step instructions, see: Restore your OneDrive - Microsoft Support
If the above steps don't work, I sincerely recommend contacting OneDrive email support. The support agent may help you recover the file. To contact: Log in OneDrive online, then click this link: Email OneDrive Support. Or you can click the feedback button in the upper-right corner.

2 -> If it is stored locally on the iPad or iPhone device, you can try searching in the device and see if there is temporary file containing the contents of the slide.

3 -> If you have saved them in a third-party cloud storage such as iCloud, I suggest you look for the corresponding file recovery method of the software.

4 -> If the above methods don't help you recover your files, I sincerely suggest you consider using third-party data recovery software or seek the help of a third-party data recovery company.
