I don't want to use the copilot features that have automatically been added to my Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.) - and I feel that this should be something that we are able to do, without having to purchase a subscription to copilot and then disable it.
How can I disable these features, to stop the shadow offer to use copilot on every new line I start on a word document and remove the icon from the tool bar?
This should be something that is an optional add on, rather than a mandated installation.

Please pay attention to the date of the messages you choose to question or criticize. That reply was posted in December before the Enable Copilot check box was available. At the time it was an appropriate response & was explicitly stated that the suggestion might help.
Hokey Smokes! I've been busy since I chimed into this thread some time ago. I just saw this post and IT WORKED! Yay! Thank you @EdwardMendelson !
I won't be buying Office 365 again at its new outrageous price with the compulsory inclusion of A! tools that we didn't ask for or need.
I have tried every answer to my question of turning off Copilot and it doesn't work! my box next to Copilot is blank so if I click on it it enables it ! But it is already enabled !
