How to disable Copilot for all applications - Mac

OK. To everyone that is using Mac Word, I have found a way to actually disable the Icon in the document.

I can now say, that the annoying thing has gone - yay!

To those who recently complained here about how wrong and stupid this is...

If you just need a place to vent, like going into the restroom and crying or shouting, that is OK.

However, it will not change the idiot/bully who is causing you problems.

No one who can make changes to the product is reading what you write here.

If you use the Feedback mechanisms provided by Microsoft, that feedback goes directly to the people who did this to you and their supervisors.

There has been a large outcry there already, which is why they tell us that they are going to include a switch to turn this off real soon now. I see no reason to let up until they actually do fix it. Be the squeaky wheel that gets fixed!

Absurd and foolish endeavor. An entirely wasted effort to continue complaining about this.

It will be fixed when they deign us poor buyers of the product with an update. Microsoft, as many arrogant software providers, make bulk fixes when they have scheduled updates...

Until then, perhaps we all stop whining and ignore the absurd, pesky "helper." And keep writing our own stuff.

This from a guy who was already in the AI world as a kid in the '80s. I think of Copilot as a good Google-filter.

Wonderful that you are a such an AI expert. But I am not interested in some software gimmick reading my document without my permission. And that's what it is doing: reading my document, disabled or enabled, it does not matter. Keep writing your own stuff and let anonymous snoops read along, you do that. I do not appreciate it.

It doesn't need to be so difficult to disable. But it is, and therefore, it's awful.

I am wasting part of my day on this. I disabled the expermimental features but the prompts are still showing up in my Word doc despite having turned off and out of Word and turned it back on again.

I did not ask for this. I do not want this. I have work to do.

The horror of it. There is no way to delete this stupid feature that was installed without my permission. It's a tool for information theft, nothing else. There is no way to remove it from your macbook, you can at best disable it, but the icon is still showing up in your Word document. Who says it is no longer reading your document???? And that's its purpose: to read your document and relay this information to the snoops.
