From Microsoft Works to Access

I am a Landscape Designer and I use my database plant-cat to refer to and to add to my plant list. It is a catalog. I am continually editing through the process. When I am done I like to crate a report to give to my clients. Microsoft Works was EASY. Access is not so easy. I want to add a field so I can add my clients name so that I can then create a report specific to that client. Hopefully that makes sense.

I'll bite. What does it look like? Please provide details that can help us help you.

Mine doesn't look like that it doesn't have shortcut and it doesn't have target.

Great, that could be the shortcut to open Access and the appropriate accdb, or it could be the shortcut to open just Access. Tell us how you use it, please.

You could try this approach.

• Right mouse-click on the Access related icon.
• If you are using Windows 11, select "Show More Options" from the popup menu, then select "Properties".
• You should see something like this.

We are interested in what is in the Target. It should include the path to a file with the accdb extension. Either way, share with us what you find, please.

As Scott suggested, you can search for the Plant accdbs in the hard drive, as well.

I have Windows 11. I have no idea what a snipping tool is.
