I moved my database from microsoft works. Does it Work??

    Which book would that be? I myself have authored or coauthored four or five books on Access. Scott has written at least one Access book. I know of several dozen other Access books....

    The problem with that icon on your desktop is not an Access problem; it's related to the way the icon was created. We don't know how you created it, or whoever created it for you did it. Therefore, we can't answer that question.

    why do I get an icon on my desktop when I try to use it that says it locked?? Also, I have the book!!

    I don't think the data was compromised. I really think the issue is inexperience.

    What you guys aren't getting is somehow and I'm no expert but the data was compromised when I moved from Works it to Access. I have over a 1,000 entries. I'm not going to re enter that much data.
