Complete new system (hardware & installation)
- High probability of crash during startup (cold start / reset button - not so much during "software based restart") - half of the starts hang, graphic freezes, no more interaction whatsoever before reaching the logon screen
- Sudden random freezes during the day (complete freeze with mousepointer and all - no more interaction)
- Same error message in the eventlog as stated above
This problem is very serious, as the crashes during startup already destroyed the system partition once (within the first week of operation), and I had to reinstall the complete system. It further makes working a pain, as one never knows, when the OS will freeze (I don't use the box for playing).
I resorted to some voodoo (calling the BIOS during start, to give the hardware some "headroom" before the OS starts with its initializations), which seems to reduce the frequency of startup crashes noticeably.
Anyway, what can we do to support a quick resolution of this issue? It renders the platform almost unusable for serious work - you don't want to work on a system that breaks away any second and might destroy the system partition or your data on the go...
Greetings
