How do I stop Teams items appearing in Quick Acess when I am SAVING (using Save As) a Word or Excel document?

Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are unable to find folders that are fixed in the list when using the Save As feature.

There are two scenarios due to fixed in list:

One is when you go to File Explorer and select the location, you can see the folder fixed by itself in the sidebar.

The other is in Excel, Word. When you open the “Save As” page, select the folder and “Pin to Recent list”. After that, the file will be fixed in the “Recent”.

As well, I'd like to know if you're using a personal account or a business account, and what specific version of Word are you using? You can send me the following screenshot:

open any Office software (e.g. word, excel), click on File-Account in the upper left corner - version information on the right.

I have the same issue and the question really wasn't answered. I want the Teams locations in Quick Access to go away. I will never use them. They are hogging the whole sidebar.

The response provided does not answer the question. The response talks about adding items to Quick Access. I want to REMOVE the Teams channels from showing up in Quick Access. I don't need them there. I need the document folders that I currently have pinned to Quick Access to appear. I can get to those folders by scrolling to the bottom of the panel on the left hand side and selecting "Browse" but I don't want to have to do that EVERY time I am saving a Word or Excel document. Please provide a way to REMOVE these Teams channels from Quick Access. I am using an enterprise account, version # 2409 Build 18025.20140.

I understand your concern and I’ve carefully read your description, if my understanding is right, it seems you want to remove the Teams channel in the Quick access menu under Save As tab. For the situation you’ve encountered, I do understand the inconvenience caused and feel very sorry about it.

As far as I know and after my research, the Quick access list for Office apps is a new feature that being rolled out gradually for the users. For your reference: Getting started with Quick access - Microsoft Support.

I’ve also done a test and further research about the situation, I’m afraid and sorry to say there’s currently no build-in settings to remove the Teams channel in this list or completely remove this Quick access menu as many other users have the same feedback as well. Due to this situation, since this is a new feature that rolled out by Microsoft, I sincerely suggest you can try to report the situation and your feedback to the Microsoft Support Team. The support team has higher permission to remotely assist you and advanced resources for the new feature of Office apps. This is a more efficient way in handling this case for you.

Why does Microsoft roll out this update without giving us the option to remove it?! This is incredibly annoying that the "Browse" option is all the way at the bottom I need to scroll down to get to.
