Why are ads suddenly appearing on my YouTube videos?

Yes me too exact same situation all political ads! For years I never had this issue with ads popping and I also have Youtube premium but it doesn't matter with the videos embedded on youtube.

Totally agree. Minimal functionality. I’m not optimistic about a solution—this is Google’s doing entirely and I guess it’s a miracle we were able to use a third-party app like PowerPoint as long as we did. I long ago started downloading YouTube videos through various free apps, which permitted me to edit them precisely through the trim function. But no question it’s easier to just use the URL. But clearly those days are now gone. Kind of amazing that it took Google this long to figure out they were missing eyeballs for their ads via PowerPoint users.

I've tried PowerPoint online and the functionality is very spare compared to the Office version. The videos don't auto play when you advance to them and once you click to start the video I've found you can't advance to the next slide even if the video ends.

Man.... too much....

I too encountered this problem starting last week with all of my embedded youtube videos in Powerpoint that I embedded using the youtube embedded code (or URL).

Sadly, there is only one workaround that I've discovered--if you have a youtube premium account (which prevents ads), you need to use office.com. Then you'll need to upload the powerpoint files you need, and play them through the powerpoint in Microsoft's online 365 version. It's tedious and what's worse, if you don't have an end point on your video, you'll need to play the video clip all the way to the end if you want to advance to the next slide.

OR--you can download every video clip you need, but that will place you in legal jeopardy with youtube.

Google needs to squeeze every dime they can from their users, since clearly they're having a tough time making a profit.

There seems to be a lot of people how have encountered this.

I am downloading the videos I want and playing them from my hard drive. This is quite an imposition and one that will likely wreck havoc on my storage, but I don't want to use Google slides. The functionality is just too clunky.
