I've helped a few friends/relatives post things on YouTube, but only because I have only a marginally better idea what I'm doing than a complete newbie (aka my friends/relatives). 😁
I did a bit of poking around and found that if your a YouTube partner, you can turn on ads for your videos to earn money (ie, monetize your efforts), bit it's less clear whether YouTube will toss random ads into your content as a non-partner.
Here's a thought about that, though: Try linking to any of the videos here and see if they display ads in PPT:

These are all pieces that I produced (I'm no pro at this by any means; don't mock me, please!). My boss then posts them on FB following my instructions. We never *explicitly* enable ads, so if any appear, it's YouTube's doing, which would mean that any content, deliberately monetized by the author or not, is subject to ad interruptions.
