Hi,

I've been working with hundreds of presentations using YouTube videos and had no trouble with ads till now (8/5/24).

I have a Premium YouTube account and have spoken with tech support at YouTube and Microsoft. The problem remains unresolved.

Help!
Alyson

If you use the cloud version of PowerPoint to present, the ads wouldn't be there because you're using a browser where you are signed in to YouTube premium.

No question about it—youtube linked videos will NOW play with ads, particularly if you’re linking to a popular site. And as you note, the ONLY way to prevent this is to download the youtube videos to your computer, then insert them directly into your powerpoint (which permits you to edit the beginning and end points). To download, you’ll need to download an app for this purpose—just google “youtube to mp4 free converter” and you’ll be given several options. BUT, this is a very tedious process, and if you’ve got dozens of youtube videos, it’s going to take some time. However, it’s the only way I’ve found to bypass ads—forever.

Alyson, I have been doing PowerPoint videos for the last 3 years in our Church. I have never had a pop up ad. Never...

I believe youtube made a deal with Microsoft. This is a new problem. It has not been their policy. That is what utube told me.

    Very frustrated.

One suggestion I received was to download the video to my device, as it's believed that this method won't result in pop-up ads.

I hope this helps; I cant figure out how to download it to my device.

Im working on it. It just downloads on Utube.

Thanks for checking that, Christopher. Another bit of info added to the Collection for the Common Good.
