Hi,

I've been working with hundreds of presentations using YouTube videos and had no trouble with ads till now (8/5/24).

I have a Premium YouTube account and have spoken with tech support at YouTube and Microsoft. The problem remains unresolved.

Help!

    Thanks for the note Paul.

I've heard in this thread that maybe the ads don't play on a Mac. I can borrow a Mac from a friend and will try that.

Also, it seems that ads don't show up on PowerPoint online. The problem is they won't play automatically. You have to click on them to play and once they're done you can't move on to the next slide unless you exit the slide show and go into normal view to advance the presentation. PowerPoint online have very limited functionality.

Oh my! I get some consolation in that I'm not the only one dealing with this problem.

    Onward,

    Alyson

Same issue on my side and still not sorted out.

Interestingly - I have played the PPT presentation on 2 laptops and 1 PC. It worked without any issues on the laptop where there I don't have a cloud service subscription for NCE 365. It is my personal laptop. Whereas the other 2 devices are company devices (2 different companies) which are presenting the same issue.

On the two company issues that are presenting the issue, one is setup with an Administrator and User Account and the other one has Administrator and 2 Window User Accounts. My personal one only has a user account.

Not sure what else to try.

    Hi,

Unfortunately I don’t have access to a Mac.

Will consider talking to my school tech team to see if I can get one.

Meanwhile, I have to revamp my presentations.

    Thanks for your input.

I also have experienced this issue on my school windows laptop. However, as of now, it does seem to work as before on my Macbook Powerpoint app. If you have access to a mac, you might could try and see if it fixes the issue for you. However, they could patch that at any time I suppose.

I considered the download idea and I’ve done that for a few videos I wanted to edit, but I’m running out of space on my hard drive.

The premium download function doesn’t send to your computer as far as I understand it. For that you use a YouTube converter.

Someone else in this thread has mentioned the same problem with YouTube and confirmed that this is a recent development.

    Onward,

    A
