Hi,

I've been working with hundreds of presentations using YouTube videos and had no trouble with ads till now (8/5/24).

I have a Premium YouTube account and have spoken with tech support at YouTube and Microsoft. The problem remains unresolved.

Help!

I am having the same problem with my PowerPoint at church suddenly ads began to appear about the first week of August. I’ve been told that my only option is to use another office program probably Google slides.

    Hi Jesse,

    Thanks for the comment.

You might be right there. Now that YouTube is owned by Google. The problem is that the last time I tried Google slides the functionality was minimal in comparison to PowerPoint.

I'm doing as you are... downloading and loading PowerPoint slides with files from my hard drive.

It's taken a big chunk of time out of my prep for the fall semester and will undoubtedly max out my hard drive storage.

    Onward,

    Alyson

I am having exactly the same problem. It is absolutely unacceptable to be showing adverts in an educational context. Ultimately, the only solution is to directly download and embed the videos. Is this a google attempt to get people to shift to google slides? Incredibly irritating.

    Thank you George.

I have done as you suggested.

Let's hope the problem can be addressed on Microsoft's end. This has been a serious disruption in my preparation of PowerPoint presentations for the fall semester at the music college where I teach.

    Thank you,

    Alyson

    Steve,

    Thank you for this clarification!

You're welcome! And thank YOU for following up on this issue with YouTube and reporting the results here.

I've reported this whole thread to my contacts at MS and specifically highlighted the info you've provided, and the fact that some of these ads are HIDEOUSLY inappropriate, as reported by some of the other folks here.

I agree with you that the problem seems to be of YouTube's making, but similar problems have occurred in the past with YouTube+PowerPoint and fixes have been negotiated. Here's hoping that happens again. *SOON*
