Microsoft Translator Not Translating

Using Translator in a group conversational setting for my ELD (English Language Development) class. Students can join the conversation session, but after the first few words are translated into their chosen language, the transcript stops translating and only shows English/English. I am using Lenovo ThinkPad, students are on Chromebooks.

Additionally, for some reason, when students join the session but have to leave to refresh the page or internet connections, the session still recognizes them as in the session. Still, they cannot rejoin or access the conversation.

We have restarted computer systems, tabs, windows, and the app. We have also started new sessions. The issues began on Thursday, 8/15/24.

I cannot speak for the original poster, but I've been experiencing the same issue on the web version. My students are choosing their language when they put the code in, but everything shows in English. I've even done it myself from another device using the iOS app. It shows everything in English, both where the translation should show and the English version. I've been experiencing this for about two weeks now. In the screenshot I'm sharing, my chosen language is Spanish, but in the class I also have two students who require Arabic translation, one who requires Kinyarwanda, and one requiring Urdu. Their screens all mirror what I'm sharing.

I am having a similar issue. It is translating my English into students' languages, but when they type a question or speak a question into their Chromebooks, it only shows in their language on my end. How do I fix this? I can get by with Spanish, but not Arabic.

Our school is on the same boat, I am getting at least 5 kids a day saying they are unable to connect to the teachers group conversation. When they try on the web version they are met with the "Wheel of Doom" and on the Chromebook app version they receive an error message to try again. Sometimes creating a new group fixes the issue but its uncommon or if it does only a few students are able to join while the rest get the try again error, I am not sure if there is a cap to how many students are able to join a group but we didn't have these issues last year. Another issue is the chosen language issue where students choose their preferred language but they receive everything in English and when they write anything back in english it will translate it to their preferred language, it seems like its reversed to me. I will attach a few examples.

We have tried clearing browsing data, restarting group conversations, restarting chromebooks. power washing and using older Chromebooks models and it is still doing what I explained above. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

We are also having similar problems - all conversations in English rather than selected languages & "wheel of doom" when trying to get into conversation. Sometimes leaving the conversation and returning will help the lack of translations, but not always and we have no solutions for "wheel of doom." We have tested different devices (ipads, iphones, android phones, chromebooks, pc's, and various mac computers) and cannot figure out any patterns. We have tried different browsers on PC's and Mac's but that also has not helped. We have tried deleting browsing history, etc, but have not found a consistent solution.

We would VERY MUCH appreciate any support/solutions that people can share.
