Microsoft Translator Not Translating

Using Translator in a group conversational setting for my ELD (English Language Development) class. Students can join the conversation session, but after the first few words are translated into their chosen language, the transcript stops translating and only shows English/English. I am using Lenovo ThinkPad, students are on Chromebooks.

Additionally, for some reason, when students join the session but have to leave to refresh the page or internet connections, the session still recognizes them as in the session. Still, they cannot rejoin or access the conversation.

We have restarted computer systems, tabs, windows, and the app. We have also started new sessions. The issues began on Thursday, 8/15/24.

We use i-pads. About 3 weeks ago Translator started having issues. Students could join the sessions but nothing was being translated. We deleted and added the app back to the i-pads. That work some of the times. Then we received messages that students couldn't join the conversations. Actually that issue was been ongoing. We shut down the i-pads and restarted everything if that didn't work we deleted the app and reinstalled them. Now the translator is not translating in Spanish or any other language. Everything that goes through the app to the students is English.

My district is a Microsoft district. We rely on the Translator for our EL's. They are missing instruction as well as being able to communicate with me and peers.

I wish someone at Microsoft would fix it or least acknowledge that there is a problem.

I am a Microsoft Global Partner and have been pestering the Translator team about this since the summer as converse mode worked beautifully for us all of last year.

Right now I am finding the best workflow is start a session on Android app (phone or chromebook) and then join on web.

Curious as to what your experiences are now, as of mid October?

We are having a similar issue at my school. We have the app downloaded on iPads. We are using conversation mode. On the teacher device, it is typing what the teacher is saying, but on the student devices, it is not doing anything. When a student types in a question, it does not translate it back to the teacher.

We have tried starting new conversations, closing the app, powering off, and as off last week that would work. Today it is not working.

Last year this app worked beautifully. Is there an update that we are missing somehow? Did something change?

    Thanks!

We are not using the teams app. We are having problems on all types of devices - chromebooks, macs, pc's, (via the website), ipads, iphones, and android devices (via the app). The two main problems are that when in a conversation, the dialogue is not translated (even though the correct language has been selected) OR participants cannot get into a conversation - the circle just spins and spins. The first problem can sometimes be solved by leaving the conversation and returning, but the second problem is happening more and more frequently and we have NOT found a solution. (Please see the images uploaded by another user below.) We are working with groups of about 5-15 participants. We have tried refreshing the browser, clearing history - cache & cookies, restarting the devices, updating the devices, and even "powerwashing" the chromebooks but have not found anything that solves the problem of not being able to get into the conversation.
