As per the description, it seems like you have encountered with writing words in the basic blocks of SmartArt and moving the blocks in PowerPoint application. Since I noticed the thread is post in Android category, may I confirm if you are using PowerPoint app on an Android device?
From my tests based on the official article, currently there has no OFB feature to write words in the SmartArt on Android as it only works in PowerPoint desktop application or PowerPoint Online, and the grouped blocks are unavailable to ungroup or adjust, but only zoom in/out.
