A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data
Totally agree... we should be able to select our favorite/most used places and have THEM in a list!

The quick access pane is providing links that I do not have write access to and never save to, and I need the 'Browse' folder option at the bottom, which I now have to use the scroll bar in order to select. This is adding extra steps and reducing efficiency, so I would like to remove the Quick Access pane.

Come on Microsoft! You knew this was going to be an issue. Fix it! Instead of rolling out updates that break VPNS apply a few simple Hide or Collapse options. That will be real bang for our buck.
me too it is silly I would far rather be able to set the files into which I normally save things
You can try creating a custom ribbon that includes a 'save as' button. This will just open the save as dialogue box without the extra click and scroll.
Yay! This was such an easy fix. I added a Save, and a Save As buttons. You know, like when it just worked in the past. Also, I deleted some other groups that I never use and just cluttered up the ribbon. Thanks!
Registry Hack worked for me too, although I do have limited admin rights. Our software installs are governed by 3rd party security software, not windows Group Policy.
