Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) is Dead? November 2024

Got so frustrated with the deprecation of SARA and complete useless mess that is GET HELP, I built a powershell to replicate almost all functions of previous SARA, with the option to also use the actual Enterprise SARA (command line only) if you download that first.

Github link is below if anyone is interested. All the commands are scripted and you simply enter 'Y' or 'N' to run each process.

How is anyone LOGGING IN to the Get help app to actually get it to do anything? When opened, it prompts for a log in and ONLY accepts personal accounts. I'm an admin in an Enterprise 365 Tenant. Get Help does not recognize any of our accounts, verified this on multiple machines. So MS discontinued a perfectly working app that DID work for Enterprise, and migrated the functions to an app that Enterprise customers can't even use...

Don't bother, it doesn't work, even if you log in with personal account. I tried on multiple PCs and with multiple OS/Office versions in our organization.

I spent about 2 hours scouring internet for solutions and going in circles on the stupid MS troubleshooting pages. The only solution is to download ZIP'ed old unverified SaRA version from the link in this thread and use it.

Somebody at Microsoft thought what a brilliant tool SARA is everyone is using it because it is simple and intuitive. I think I will make a new more complicated tool that may or may not be of any use to users.

It seems that the SARA tool has been replaced with an online troubleshooter. You can send feedback to Microsoft using the feedback portal. There is no specific category for install/uninstall, but you can try the Word category at https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/fb6d67e3-301c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472.

If you use Windows 11 it should be installed by default.

If you want to directly start the app then I guess you can start the executable located here:
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.GetHelp_10.2409.22951.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\GetHelp.exe

When started then maybe the (localised) app name will present itself and maybe you can find this app within the start/search menu.

I agree it's hard to find and even harder when a localised version is to be discovered (like 'Hulp vragen' in Dutch).
