Eliminating the need to Control+Click on hyperlinks

I have a number of hyperlinks and action buttons in my PowerPoint deck but all need to be Control Clicked to work. There are lots of queries about this issue in Word and Outlook on the web but I can't find anything relating to PowerPoint. When I follow the 'fix' for these other apps (i.e. go to Options, Advanced etc.) the option doesn't seem to exist in PowerPoint. The only solution seems to be to use the PowerPoint in Slideshow but I'm sharing this with colleagues who will be accessing it in Normal view. Is there no way to disable the control+click in this view? Thanks!

    Dear LLeanneS_003,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience you are experiencing because of the inability to eliminate the need to use Control + Click on hyperlinks in PowerPoint normal view. I understand that it’s frustrating and I apologize for any inconvenience caused.

We understand that this limitation can be frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. We value your understanding, and I also agree with you that this would be a great addition to the features in PowerPoint.

Microsoft values user feedback. We encourage you to share your thoughts and suggestions through our feedback community under PowerPoint · Community (microsoft.com) or use the PowerPoint in-app feature by going to Help > Feedback > Make a suggestion. The product development team monitors this site around the clock and your feedback will be considered. This is the best way to let the team know your needs and help improve our products and services. We hope to see this feature in the future version of PowerPoint.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

Ralph Chawatama | Microsoft Community Moderator

Thanks Ralph, I've tried to make a suggestion but my access has been blocked for some reason. I am emailing from work, could it have something to do with our settings? I used the PowerPoint in-app feature to make a suggestion but get immediately blocked by the Microsoft site.

    Hi LLeanneS_003,

Good day! hope you are doing well.

If the "Make a Suggestion" option is blocked, it might be due to restrictions set by your administrator. You can try using the direct link to the PowerPoint Community on the Microsoft website: PowerPoint · Community (microsoft.com). This will help you determine if the site is being blocked by your administrator on your work network. If that's the case, you can make the suggestion using your phone's network or your home network.

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

Ralph Chawatama | Microsoft Community Moderator
