GPGeorge, I've had the 64-bit Office on this machine for 2 years. No issues until yesterday, when the Office update hit. Only when I ran the repair process on the 64-bit Office installation did I get a warning that there were some 32-bit Office components installed. (I had not installed anything in the last 2 weeks, so whatever these components are/were, they were compatible with MS Access up until yesterday.)

This works:

SELECT Table1.Text1, InStr(1,[Text1],"x") AS Field2

FROM Table1;

This crashes MS Access before returning any results:

Hi,

I installed the new version 2404 which was published on May 1. In my tests the bug has been fixed.

Therefore, I've updated our documenting article on AFo with the fix information.
