I have a document I share using Excel online via onedrive. I update it in on the desktop app and people access it via a link, and view it on the Web version.
Up until yesterday, a viewer would be able to click a cells with a hyperlink to another sheet in the workbook, and it would automatically take them there. Today, every single cell with a hyperlink requests the viewer to 'ctrl and click' to follow the hyperlink.
I have gone though every single option on my desktop Excel app to try and turn off this 'ctrl and click' functuon but I genuinely cannot find anything relevant or that has worked. I have the latest version of Excel for Mac and I haven't changed any settings.
Please, how do I make hyperlinks work automatically again? Thank you!!

I found that hovering over the link pops up the link. Click it and the tab opens as the active tab.
I Found a work around, select Cell / right click mouse / link options /open link

To make hyperlinks in Excel work automatically without needing to press Ctrl and click, you can adjust the settings in Excel. Here's how you can change this setting:
Open Excel and click on File > Options. In the Excel Options dialog box, select Advanced. Scroll down to the Editing options section. Uncheck the box next to Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink. Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog box. After doing this, clicking on hyperlinks should follow the link directly without needing the Ctrl key.

I have exactly the same issue, it started on Friday.

No solution as yet, I'll keep you posted. At the moment I suspect The Excel update Version 2403: April 09

I started having the same issue this week. I have hundreds of documents in SharePoint and a main index for ease of reference. All of my links contained in Excel now require the user to ctrl + click to open them. I have searched for a solution but have not found one. Hopefully this get's corrected soon as it is a major step back in my opinion.
