This is about repetitive screen clutter, it doesn't need to be there so let's switch it off. I'll point out that contract worker such as myself have no scope to change the settings of the working models of companies we work at. So on a daily basis we have to clean away screen trash which is electronically generated by a Microsoft product. Screen space is always at a premium.
Now the answers on the above link completely skip around the issue - if anything they misunderstand what the questioner is driving at. As another person irritated by intrusive - let's call it feature creep (harsher words could be used) - I'm bemused that increasing product complexity isn't accompanied by ways to clean things up by eg turning off nags.
The issue hasn't gone away. It isn't solved. And yes - just to be clear - I'm perfectly able to redesign spreadsheets to make them more efficient and limit bloat - and I do this if it's in my remit.
I'm also aware that answers can be phrased to close down issues that aren't going to be fixed.

I'd like to add my voice to those asking to have this as a feature you can switch off.
I do have a big workbook that has been fine for me for at least 17years.
The Performance checks I have to do each time I open this workbook now take quite some time and MY performance is now reduced.
I makes this workbook I have used for 17 years virtually unusable.
Please give as a switch to turn this off.
I agree with everyone saying this is a useless feature if you can't permanently turn the message off. Or at a minimum turn it off for specific spreadsheets. I use several spreadsheets that I didn't create and I have no ability to re-design them because they are templates controlled by someone else. It's just annoying seeing that yellow bar every time I open one of these spreadsheets.
2025 and still solution???!!
Likely not happening as Microsoft hasn't done anything about it even with this thread being up for a long time.
