Sharepoint access in Safari Broswer on iOS

I am using a QR code/Link to have people access a file in my departments sharepoint.

The site is password protected through the university log in.

When android users use the link, they are directed to a sign-in pop up and the file is promptly downloaded.

When iOS users use the link:

~70% of users are directed to a sign-in pop up and the file is promptly downloaded.

~30% of users get "Safari can't establish a secure connection" error

     ~50% of these users can reload the page and click "reduce permissions" and are directed to sign-in

     ~50% cannot move past this error page

I have tried investigating security settings on safari and the iphones there is no clear pattern between the ones that work and the ones that dont. All phone are connected to the same work Wifi. Different models of iphones and iOS versions as well so there is no patterns there.

Those that have other browsers on iOS (Chrome, Firefox, edge) usually do not have an issue.

Any troubleshooting or work around is appreciated - I would like the links to work on every phone.

    Thanks for posting back.

    I have tested it on my end (iPhone's Safari) and it works fine. To my knowledge, there is no Microsoft 365 policy/setting that can restrict user accessing SharePoint in a specific browser on mobile devices. In this case, I suggest you report the problem to your tenant admin or IT team and ask them to raise a support ticket via the Microsoft 365 Admin Center> Support> New service request. The support team there has the correct channel and resources to help you investigate more and find what exactly reason has caused this problem at the backend.

    Thank you for the response.

    1. do you mean the problem occurs when an iOS user accesses a sharing link directly in Safari? Yes, when using Safari on iOS
    2. We tried Private mode and the problem still occurs on a few devices.

    Here is an Image from the users phone.

    1. For "I am using a QR code/Link", let's leave the QR code out of the discussion for a moment, do you mean the problem occurs when an iOS user accesses a sharing link directly in Safari?

    If you are not using a shared link, please point it out and let us know.

    1. I suggest you have the affected iOS users open Safari in private mode, copy/paste, and access the sharing link again. Press and hold the Safari app icon, and choose "New Private Tab". Check if the problem still occurs.
