Hello, What software will people be using and why when Publisher is phased out in October 2026? Thank you.

I know there's InDesign and Canva. Also, will Publisher files be able to be converted ?

I am in the same boat. I work for two non-profits. I have been searching for easy to use alternatives but so far, I have not found any.

I especially like your #5. I have over 25 years of material, and it makes me so angry I may have to re-do everything if I want to keep using it.

After much discussion and years of using MS Publisher, I have not not had a satisfactory answer why MS would drop their best ever popular program.

My answer to this problem has been to keep my old laptop running with Windows 10 and that era's Publisher AND NEVER go on line, for obvious reasons. When the work is completed, Save and convert it to PDF file for use on my new laptop that the latest MS ware. So far is has worked just fine.

I am in the same boat. I think they are making a mistake here. Publisher has a very loyal and large fan base. I have tried everything out there and nothing compares to Publisher for newsletters. I would consider paying for Office 365 if it included Publisher, but it doesn't so they won't get my business there either. And now, they are adding a program to all new Windows machines to block you from installing your legacy versions of Office or Publisher. It is about the money not the user. I am treating my two laptops with kid gloves. I returned a brand-new one yesterday when I realized what they had done.

Canva does the best, but you're right, nothing goes smoothly.

They are not responding. Frankly, they do not need my business anymore.
