Publisher alternative in 2026

Hello, What software will people be using and why when Publisher is phased out in October 2026? Thank you.

I know there's InDesign and Canva. Also, will Publisher files be able to be converted ?

    I totally agree with you. Word is not close to being comparable when trying to move text boxes and graphics like Publisher. I have used this software for over 20 years also and create all my publications, flyers, newsletters, bulletins, etc. on it. Canva has its uses, but still doesn't have the degree of manipulation that Publisher does. Please reconsider discontinuing this product.

    This has made me panic - I run a small business for greeting cards and have 1000's of files. Publisher is a great middle ground application that is perfect for what I need to do without being too complicated. I'm reading that many use it for newsletters, classrooms and voluntary organisation publications and feel to remove it will force people to abort or pay expensive subscriptions. Please reconsider Microsoft.

    Extremely frustrated that MS is planning on removing publisher. It is one of the main reasons I pay my yearly subscription. Converting my files and re-formating them as a 1-person business is a nightmare. Please reconsider.

    If turning off automatic Office updates works for Publisher 2010, is that an option for the current version?

    Another of Microsoft's capricious, nonsensical decisions. Seems like a deliberate attempt to encourage us to switch to Apple products.
