Hello, What software will people be using and why when Publisher is phased out in October 2026? Thank you.
I know there's InDesign and Canva. Also, will Publisher files be able to be converted ?

2025-03-25T23:56:53+00:00 I think I will wait until mid 2026 to possibly getting a stand alone version of Publisher. I wonder is MS might come up with a change of heart, or at least make a special offer of a free or very cheap version of Publisher to 365 account holders.

2025-03-25T23:30:04+00:00 Hi, I have a MS publisher 2002 and have just installed it to see what would happen. I have installed it in a new and separate program folder in Program Files (x86)/Office Publisher 2002 that I created. It opens my 365 files, converts to PDF, etc. I registered the program with just the licence details, no name, no email, etc. Files appear to work as normal.

2025-03-25T01:08:44+00:00 I totally agree about Office 365 vs the Google office suite and Open Office. The only thing that makes MS Office stand out is Publisher. When it's gone, I see no reason to pay Microsoft for equivalent apps I can get for nothing.
