Hello, What software will people be using and why when Publisher is phased out in October 2026? Thank you.

I know there's InDesign and Canva. Also, will Publisher files be able to be converted ?

Leigh, from what I've been told by a couple of technical people, MS wants to push AI, which is not useful in Publisher. They are trying to force AI on users and will charge for Copilot "service." This has been discussed in other forums. Personally, I may have some uses for AI but don't want to be forced to pay for something I don't need at this point.

    YES, I agree.

I use Publisher for foe cad drawings, Poster creation, signs, letterheads, appointment calendars, event tracking, and many other projects in my business and private life!

Please do not abandon Office Publisher.

I have been using Publisher since Office's early days, creating nearly 1500 documents I would be hard-pressed to recreate. Please do not orphan us, loyal long-term users!

    Aloha, all:

I just can't wrap my brain around the issue. Does anyone have an inkling why such a successful player in the computer biz arena would decide to stop offering a unique service that so many people depend upon. And, as has been well documented over the course of this discussion, Publisher is unique. Nothing else in the MS 365 suite even pretends to offer page layout options for creating and formatting, and reformatting, newsletters and the like.

Apparently we can still purchase Office Professional 2021 from the Microsoft Store, which includes Publisher, to the tune of $439.00. That's the answer I got from MS support. I don't trust downloading with download key vs CD hard copy
