How to auto separate MS Lists uploads into separate Sharepoint folders using Power Automate?

Hello,

Just realized that MS Lists only allows 1 column for attachments (though allowing multiple attachments). The problem is, I was trying to create multiple columns so the attachments can be added by category.

Since I can't categorize multiple columns, I need to be able to separate the attachments into categorized folders once they are uploaded but I want to do this automatically.

How do I use Power Automate to grab the attachments and place each file in separate SharePoint folders? Thanks!

    Thanks but the original filename is not being maintained as my name and a number is still being added the filename of the uploaded files.

    Thanks for that information. May I ask that you please be more explicit or kindly provide screenshots of your instructions?

    Are you saying?:

    • In flow #1, add a Compose action between the Apply to Each and Add Attachment actions
    • Add this formula to the Compose action - substring(items('Apply_to_each')?['name'],0,indexOf(items('Apply_to_each')?['name'],'_'))

    Please advise.

    Dear Lissa,

    Thanks for your updates and providing the screenshots for our reference.

    It seems that you use another way instead of Parse JSON to get the dynamic file id. You can just use the substring formula based on your data under Get file content (OneDrive for Business) to change the file names with Compose and then add them as attachments to the site list.
