OneNote fingerprint unlock is not working

When setting up a protected section on Onenote on my samsung fold6 it I enable the box that says use fingerprint next time but when I go to unlock it again it asks for the password again with the use fingerprint box still enabled. It never lets me use my fingerprint to unlock the sections. Anyone know a fix for this?

There's a solution to this in the reply below that I paste. It finally work for me after pulling my hair out. Would you please pass this on to the OneNote team so that they can look into a real solution instead of the work around mentioned by LKR307?

I had the same frickin' issue when I switched to my new phone, so I felt it was an issue with the current version of onenote and "EURAKAH" I found a solution.
All you have to do install a previous APK version of onenote and then update it to the latest version through play store and the fingerprint unlock works. I installed the January 19, 2024 APK version from apkmirror. I recommend others as well to download from this website as it is malware free and has authentic apps.
