OneNote fingerprint unlock is not working

When setting up a protected section on Onenote on my samsung fold6 it I enable the box that says use fingerprint next time but when I go to unlock it again it asks for the password again with the use fingerprint box still enabled. It never lets me use my fingerprint to unlock the sections. Anyone know a fix for this?

    Thanks. Maybe there's no solution to my problem, though I've seen other folks in my position posting online. You get used to unlocking with fingerprint and then the app decides to demand a password instead. What I thought was the right password isn't working, but it's so long since I had to use it. Surely there's some way to get it to accept a fingerprint again...

    Are you still using the Jan 2024 apk? Or did you update in the Playstore after sideloading the apk? I tried with the Jan 24 apk, then updated in the Playstore and it still won't prompt for a fingerprint :(

    On a fresh, clean install of onenote from the Google play store, I signed into my MSA.

    Then went to unlock a protected section.

    It prompted me to put in the password (for the first login).

    The switch to "log me in with fingerprint next time" was already selected. I put in my password.

    On next attempt to log in, I was never presented with fingerprint signin. Was prompted for section password again.

    Can I double-check what the problem was? Was it:

    1. OneNote never asked for a fingerprint, even after you filled in a password and checked 'ask for fingerprint next time'?

    or

    1. OneNote started demanding a password even when you had previously been using fingerprint unlock?

    My problem is #2. I can create a password and check 'ask for fingerprint next time', and indeed OneNote asks for my fingerprint next time. HOWEVER I have old locked files which I previously accessed every time with fingerprint, but OneNote is now demanding passwords, but the passwords I made a note of way back aren't working. I just want it to go back to asking for my fingerprint like before.

    I had the same frickin' issue when I switched to my new phone, so I felt it was an issue with the current version of onenote and "EURAKAH" I found a solution.

    All you have to do install a previous APK version of onenote and then update it to the latest version through play store and the fingerprint unlock works. I installed the January 19, 2024 APK version from apkmirror. I recommend others as well to download from this website as it is malware free and has authentic apps.

    Yessssss this worked. Microsoft messed up the fingerprint unlock with an update on their end.

    S24 ultra. Used the onenote armv8 apk from Jan 2024. Sideloaded it and now the fingerprint unlock works again.
