Switch to Google Drive. Forget OneDrive. I did this and no issues anymore.
I’m only using Office from MS until the day that I will switch for all to some open office suit.
This way, MS sucks!!

I had a folder shared with me, and I could fully sync it to my own mac - all the office files were available offline on my own mac (word, excel, ppt). It appeared as a folder in Finder in the Onedrive folder.
Since yesterday the shared folder has disappeared from finder, and all the files are no longer on the mac. They don't show up in a spotlight search. The folder has been replaced by a url that opens the shared folder online.
The folder is fully available when I access Onedrive through the web.
I can also open the shared files on Onedrive through the native Mac apps, if they appear in recent files, or browse to "Online locations", but these only show the recent locations that I had accessed through finder. I can't browse the entire folder through an app.
I have tried the following:
Happening on both Mac M2 Air and Macbook Pro Intel, both have current versions of SW for both Mac and Office.

Shared folders returned for me. Firstly on Windows then 2 days later on macOS. On both OneDrive hanged on the process so I had to unlink and link the account again on each machine.
The functionality finally started to work again on MacOS. I had to reshare the folder, but that is no problem.
Hallelujah!
I am experiencing an ongoing issue with my shared files on OneDrive, which has not been resolved on my Mac. Despite following all troubleshooting steps, I am still unable to view my shared files directly within the OneDrive app. Instead, I only see a URL link to access them.
As a result, when I work on these files, I don't have the automatic save option, and I am forced to constantly download and upload the files. This significantly impacts my workflow and defeats the purpose of using OneDrive for seamless file management and collaboration.
Could you please investigate this matter further and provide assistance in resolving it?
Thank you for your attention to this issue.
I have the same problem. Today (2025 May 09) i can't sync any shared folders. I have a family M365 license and share many folders with some other family accounts, but i can't access any shared folder into Finder on MacOS. The folder appears like URL and when i click open a browser with the online content, but i can't access this files on Finder, like other files of my onedrive.
I already restart the MacOS, uninstall, clean all prefs and e re-install OneDrive, by downloading the latest version, but the problem continues.
Attached a print how the folder appears on my onedrive.
