Is there a way to stop the check performance pop-up?

I have a spreadsheet that I use daily that just started getting the stupid "Slow workbook? 50% of your workbook has unused formatting and metadata that can be optimized to improve performance...Check Performance" pop-up that I'm having to close out every time I open the workbook. It's super annyoying because the spreadsheet is formatted just the way I need it and the stuff "excel" wants to remove is stuff that I don't want removed. How can I make the popup stop? I've looked through the options and googled but can't seem to find a straight forward answer. Hoping someone has some kind of trick to make it stop.

The main issue seems to be that I have every other column formatted like pictured below. I did this so that I could easily see each column of data to make sure I was working in the correct one. Is there a easier way to do that?

    Me too. It's because Microsoft does not care what we want and would rather try to force its "AI Solutions" on us, trying to "fix" spreadsheets that do not need fixing.... I can not emphasize enough..... THEY DO NOT CARE WHAT WE WANT.

    It is currently not possible to disable this feature, but Microsoft is working on it. It turned out to be more complicated than originally estimated, so the fix has been delayed.

    I doubt its that difficult to turn off a popup. If it is that difficult then the coders have done a trash job setting up the workflow. I with literally no real experience in coding can setup check boxes. This is an abysmal failure for which someone needs to be reprimanded.

    Any updates on the fix? I noticed this first appeared when changed my setup to have some formulas read data from its' own cell.

    Now I am finding it's on my other workbooks as well and I don't even know why...but I rather it not be micro-managing my workbooks unless I ask for it to, because that pop-up is a waste of time in itself to have x click off everytime.
