Issues with VBA after upgrading to Version 2311 (Build 17029.20108)

Hi, after updating to Version 2311 (Build 17029.20108), we face seriously many issues with our Excel Macro solutions. Something we have never seen before (or at least not for a long period of time). Even things like standard commands like thisworkbook fail. We had to change to 'Monthly Enterprise Channel 2310', which fixed the issue.

Also, it happens on different computers, with different workbooks, so it's not a question about reinstall Excel or something like that.

Btw. We have been working with Macros as our Core business for more than 8 years, and have millions of lines of code. So we normally know what we do.

Is there other people in here which get the same kind of errors with VBA using this version?

All our issue was fixed by rolling back from Version 2311 (Build 17029.20108) to Version 2310 (Build 16924.20180).

We had all kind of weird issue with this Version 2311 (Build 17029.20108).

    Hello !!!

After weeks of Excel running nicely, a few minutes ago I got an Excel error. I am running Version 2404 Build 17531.20120. I was saving a WB when the error occurred and I noticed Excel took some extra time to perform the saving. Right after saving was "done", Excel started automatically offering to recover the WB I had saved. I accepted the offer, the WB opened and I saved it. WB and VBA contents were OK. Nothing was lost. Next is a print screen of the Event.

I also noticed another event that called my attention.... it was an Information Level Event but its contents were related to Excel... here is the print screen:

    OFFICE_MODULE_VERSION_MISMATCH ??????

    What is that?

    Cheers

    Ed

Yes. I've had similar. Excel just hangs but doesn't crash. The blue circle just spins indefinitely.

I have to stop it in the Task Manager

Ah - that's not good news! Two months with a stable version is not enough. Does anyone know where we can report these issues to Microsoft? What's the best way to inform them about issues like this?

    Hi Alexander !!!

In my case, since I am subscribed to Microsoft 365 Insider, supposedly, all errors occurring on any app (Excel, Word, etc.) are automatically reported to MS. In fact, the app which has been causing me more problems is Outlook; it stops responding so I have to close the windows (X upper right corner) and immediately after clicking on X, I get a message "Wait until the problem is reported to MS" or something like that. In this case, Excel error, the error event was created by Windows, but I have no clue if it was or how it was reported to MS.

Perhaps the MVPs here could know !!!

    Cheers,

    Ed
