Copilot not creating presentations from word documents...

Hi, I recently purchased a subscription for copilot pro. All my office apps are up to date and I can see the copilot button in the ribbon. The issue I am having is that copilot won't create a presentation in powerpoint form a file - it has no idea what I'm talking about. Has anyone experienced this and found a fix?

Conor (and all the other folks who've been having trouble with this missing feature):

TL;DR: Those of us with regular Office subscriptions cannot use this feature.

Microsoft has done a less than stellar job of explaining the new CoPilot feature and which versions of Office get what features.

The ability to create a presentation from a Word file is only available to users who:

a) Have an ENTERPRISE license for Office 365, and

b) Whose enterprise bosses have paid the $30/month per user fee for CoPilot

The *specific* name of the required product is "Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365" as distinct from CoPilot or CoPilot Pro.

    THANK YOU ... were you using the web version or the Office version? And was the document stored on OneDrive or somewhere else? It would be very helpful if you could copy/paste the entire prompt - I tried this: Create a presentation using file LMS_Meeting.docx and got this: Sorry, I don't know of a way to do that. Try rephrasing your request, or ask me about another feature. Maddening, but happy for you!

    I tried every which way and only got: "I'm not able to do that. Is there something else I can do to help build your deck?",

    until I replaced the spaces in the filename with underlines (ex. "My_File_Name.docx" instead of "My File Name.docx"). All good now.

    My fault for not accessing this thread. I have spent hours trying to get a Word document into PowerPoint via Copilot. Extremely frustrated and causing profanity. When will this feature be available? Microsoft needs to CLARIFY its marketing and videos to show how Copilot can magically create PPT from Word. VERY DISAPPOINTED - although the product IS amazing.

    Hi Conor,

    I understand your point, and we apologize if the feature was advertised but not available yet for public use. I am also a subscriber myself and I would feel the same if I'm on your shoe. If you wish to cancel the subscription for a refund, you can definitely contact Microsoft Live Support as billing-related concern is something we don't have access to here in Microsoft Community because our tools are limited. They should be the one to verify your purchase and process your request.

    Here's how to contact them.

    1. Open this link. Contact Us - Microsoft Support
    2. It will ask you to sign in to the personal account that your Microsoft 365 subscription is associated with.
    3. Once you've logged in to your account. It will ask you to choose a product.
    4. Choose "Office".
    5. Then select "Get Home Service"
    6. You need to provide the problem you have or you can write there, "Cancel Copilot Pro for a refund"
    7. At the bottom of the page. Select the "Contact Support" option.
    8. Select "Microsoft 365 and Office"
    9. In the Category, you can choose Manage My Subscription and confirm.
    10. It will ask you to choose a support option. It's up to you if you want to change the locale.
    11. Then select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" or "Request a call back".
    12. It will automatically direct you to live support.
