Hi Hugo, this is Bryll
I totally understand how worrisome this can be, but I want to assure you that you're not alone.
We would like to share a heads up that Data recovery is a complex process, and its success cannot be guaranteed as it may be caused by uncontrollable factors such as file corruption. We will endeavor to use our best effort and expertise to recover your data, but we cannot make any guarantees regarding the quantity, quality or completeness of the retrieved data.
- Check if the file is saved in OneDrive or SharePoint. If it is, try opening the file from there to see if the changes are reflected.
- Check the version history of the saved file from OneDrive cloud.
- Go to this OneDrive.com online link Personal Cloud Storage – Microsoft OneDrive and sign in with your Microsoft account.
- Locate the OneNote file in question and right-click on it.
- Select "Version history" from the drop-down menu.
- A list of all the versions of the document will appear. Look for the version that contains the changes you made.
- Once you have found the version you want to restore, select it and click on "Restore" at the top of the page.
- The restored version of the OneNote file will now be saved in your OneDrive account.
- Check if there are any autosaved versions of the file. To do this, open PowerPoint on your iPad and tap on the "Open" tab. Then, tap on "Recent" and look for the file you were working on. If there are any autosaved versions, they should be labeled as such.
- Force quit the PowerPoint app and reopening it. Sometimes, this can help refresh the app and recover missing changes.
- The file could have been saved in a different location than you expected. For example, you may have saved it in the Files app instead of the PowerPoint app, or in a different folder or cloud service. To find your file, you can use the search function in the Files app or the PowerPoint app and look for the file name or keywords. You can also sort your files by date modified to see the most recent ones.
Additionally, since we've created a dedicated support team in the OneDrive online Platform focused on researching OneDrive.com online server and have richer experience and knowledge with them, it's also recommended to contact In-App Support directly for checking into your account for deeper investigation: https://onedrive.live.com/?action=feedback
If further help is needed, please enlighten us on the issue further by responding to these questions:
- Is your OneDrive account synced with your other mobile devices or computers?
- Can you tell me what was the most recent activity you noticed before realizing that the changes of your PowerPoint file were missing?
- Have you checked that you have enough storage space in your OneDrive account? Click here and check out How does Microsoft storage work? - Microsoft Support
It's important to act quickly to increase your chances of recovering your files. Stay calm and follow the steps provided in a systematic manner. Hopefully, you'll be reunited with your updated file soon.
Best wishes,
Bryll
