Excel won't print more than one copy

Friends,

I just downloaded MS Office 365 for Mac. Excel will not let me print more than one copy of a spreadsheet. I spent time on the phone with Canon trying to resolve the issue (I have Canon printers). It is not a Canon issue (they said). Note: I can print as many copies as I want from Word documents. Also, I had no issue with printing multiple copies from Excel Office 2016 for Mac on my older MacBook. The issue seems to be with 365.

On another note: Word 365 messed up a nearly 300 page document I opened from Office 2016. The pagination (formatting or something) is all different. Which, wouldn't be a problem, except that I'm still printing section by section as we go through it and now the page numbers don't align). Though, I can print as many copies as I want, even from this document - just not from Excel.

    The problem is actually a bit different. It seems that Mac Excel locks in the number of printed copies that you print on the very fist time you print a new Excel workbook. If you print 12 copies the first time, then you are stuck with 12 copies EVERY time thereafter. And this behavior travels with each Excel file to other Macs. If you have another Excel sheet and you only print one copy the first time, then that file is stuck with one copy going forward.

    Microsoft apparently thought it would be a nice "feature" to remember how many copies you printed each Excel file the last time but they didn't intend to lock it in permanently. But they did years ago and still don't recognize that there is a problem. And the moderators keep spewing out that it is a printer driver problem and not a Microsoft error. As long as the Moderators don't recognize it as a problem, there is, alas, no hope.

    I agree when selection of copies required should revert to 1 being default as with other Microsoft products. Geoff

    Hi,

    I've been having the same issue. No matter what I've tried MS Excel for Mac (v16.82) stubbornly refuses to print out multiple copies.

    However I've just noticed that it could be down to the file permissions?

    I moved the document from the current location to the desktop. Doing so I was prompted to input my logon credentials, which I duly did.

    Opened up the document from there and voila I was then able to print my required 50 copies.

    Strange, but obviously Excel has an issue with the document permissions which prevent multiple copies!?

    Go figure!!

    Checked and unchecked Collate - no difference.

    I already tried with a newer/different driver from Canon. Makes no difference. Word will print multiple copies of a document. So will Adobe Reader. Just not Excel!

    I tried what you recommended - still only get one copy. I'm not really wanting to reset the printing system as this deletes all my printers. I did have Canon install one of my printers as a different name with a different driver and it still does the same thing. Any other ideas?
