Microsoft should be sue class action for copying and deleting all my files from my computer and moving it OneDrive cloud space without letting the user know...to get more money and subscription, MS has moved all my files onto Cloud and deleted from my C: drive!
This is done without the users permission or letting the user know of deleting files from the local drive.
I can understand if it copies to OneDrive location on the CLOUD.
NOw it has also made multiple copies and when I want a file I connot find it even!
What MS has done is by virtue of owning the desktop, they are forcing people to use OneDrive and moving files and filling it up on OneDrive so Microsoft can charge more money for cloud space when I did not want to remove it from my local hard drive and keep it on the cloud to begin with.
Now I had too many directories under Documents, they are saying I will have to copy one by one; that too create a zip for each directory and restore it....no easy way back from MS Cloud OneDrive back to the local hard drive.
This is unacceptable and created headaches for many users!!
Now I have to put in a lot of hours to reconstuct my files...

They stole my personal photos, my kids, wife, family and friends etc... my entire life over the last 20 years off my hard drive. AND also all of my businesses photography and other files. The damage is inestimable!!!
I had a similar issue. I'm taking online classes and my computer has a 4TB HD, so it had plenty of space for my documents. I just found out that a document that I had SPECIFICALLY and INTENTIONALLY saved to the drive on my PC was instead saved to my onedrive, which was full, so it deleted all the work I had done as a punishment for not giving them money. ONEDRIVE IS A SCAM!!! Fortunately, you can disable it, but now I have to redo all the work I had done because Access won't allow me to open the file after downloading it from where I had submitted it. F--- you, miscrosoft!
****. Microsoft deleted ALL of my local files. I am a writer. These were important drafts that I had worked on, in some cases, for years. Microsoft destroyed ALL of that. This needs to be addressed. There needs to be a class action suit.

I did the same except, I bought 365 and used it for a year. I chose not to renew because of no longer needing it. Since I did not renew MS froze all MY files. I can't edit or do any thing with them unless I pay for 365 again. MS has no right to freeze, what I have already paid for and have in my files, AGAIN.... it was done without consent or even informing us MS was stealing our stuff. I worked all year on my stuff that is no frozen I can edit NOTHING!!!. I am LIVID!!!
As for myself if this does not get changed I will never use anything MS again. I will see to it that everyone knows exactly what MS did to me and that they will not correct it. MS has toooo many competitors to do this to me or John (I just read where MS took his files from his laptop.
About 10 years ago I needed MS for a short time. When I did not renew I could still use the templets and files I created and could edit them.

I agree. I also 'somehow' enabled OneDrive - and it moved all of my documents and photos to the cloud. I'm pretty careful about file management - so I think this happened as part of Office 365 install and setup - but I sure as hell do not recall seeing any notification that this would MOVE my files to the cloud so they would only be available when I am online.
I'm trying to restore them locally - but the software interface is far from intuitive and the help is more than a little confusing - and I'm a software professional with over 40 years experience.
I would certainly support a class action suit against MS for basically hijacking user files without proper notification. The entire OneDrive application is designed to be obscure to end users.
This is the worse POS software I have encountered in some time.
