A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
Hi guys -
Looks like it's now been fixed (11:30am (UK) time).
Restart your computers.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Each time I press the READ ALOUD button, it gives me this error message:
"To choose what voice you hear while using Read Aloud, sign in with your Microsoft account."
But I am signed into my MS account.
It appears that my credentials cannot be verified. When this happens, MS Word defaults to the 3 built-in voices.
Any ideas?

Hi guys -

The Microsoft tech did an office 365 version roll back remotely on my Pc today and of course it didnt work! Its so weird because Read Aloud Natural Voices worked well for months before the July 11 update.
On my PC I currently have amazing new natural voices in Narrator, Edge Immersive Reader, but these do not show up in Word where I need them.
The crazy 'you must login to hear voices', when you are already logged in, error still persists as well.
Ive been proofreading my new book today with the glorious Microsoft Zira voice! :)
Edit: I just saw your update. My bad.
Is it possible to roll the Word 365 update back to the previous? This new July 11, 2023 update is exactly when the problem started for me.
There is. I've tried. But it didn't work. I have two accounts, one through work and one personals. Work doesn't update automatically, and it looks like if the update already went through rolling back does not fix it. But if you want to try:
And how to check what version you're on, in case you need it. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/about-office-what-version-of-office-am-i-using-932788b8-a3ce-44bf-bb09-e334518b8b19
thank you for the update
UPDATE 7/14/2023: I had a Microsoft tech take over my PC and after working on this for an hour it is still unresolved. He said the developers are aware of this bug and should have it fixed in the coming hours. Below is a summary of the work he did,.
