"To choose what voice you hear while using Read Aloud, sign in with your Microsoft account."

Each time I press the READ ALOUD button, it gives me this error message:

"To choose what voice you hear while using Read Aloud, sign in with your Microsoft account."

But I am signed into my MS account.

It appears that my credentials cannot be verified. When this happens, MS Word defaults to the 3 built-in voices.

Any ideas?

Hi guys -

Looks like it's now been fixed (11:30am (UK) time).

Restart your computers.

    This is absolutely incorrect..

Natural voices can be used in narrator but not read aloud whether logged in or not

Not in office 2019 or in M365 so far

They did work at one time.. I used them and now they don't with a new system build image.

    Dell Precision 7540

    win 11 pro version 23H2

    build 22631.2715

    Apparently not in the US!

Is there an update available to fix this?

Microsoft, I have already spoken to your Level 1 team last week, reloaded Windows and MS Office, and nothing changed. Then suddently it started working again ("Male" and "Female" options allow Aria to work).

When I finally got a Level 2 call back, it was working, so nothing to do. I let the tech go immediately after the call came in.

Then only a few days later, it goes back to NOT working. Based on all of the non-improvements of our shared troubleshooting on my PC, and then the subsequent "up and down" of Word recognizing me as logged in for the purposes of using high-fidelity voices, this probem has nothing to do with me personally or any setup I have.

I would request that Microsoft tell everyone here what is happening, why this capability went down during the windows update, why it came back, why it went down again, and what we as paying consumers can do if anything, and can expect for a permanent fix. Reasonable, right?

Deja vu again 2nd time this month. I was down after the update, came back up without my doing anything (similar to Brad), then 9-26-2023 as I was listening to Aria again, went back to robotic voices.

We still haven't heard anything from Microsoft on what is happening and expected stable operation date...?
