"To choose what voice you hear while using Read Aloud, sign in with your Microsoft account."

Each time I press the READ ALOUD button, it gives me this error message:

"To choose what voice you hear while using Read Aloud, sign in with your Microsoft account."

But I am signed into my MS account.

It appears that my credentials cannot be verified. When this happens, MS Word defaults to the 3 built-in voices.

Any ideas?

Hi guys -

Looks like it's now been fixed (11:30am (UK) time).

Restart your computers.

I am not sure, I did not try but I fixed it. I went into Credential Manager and removed my office 365 credentials and then logged out of word. It forced me to authenticate with my authenticator and now its working.

I did some testing. Here is what I figured out so far: My work account works fine on our RDS (server 2019)/Word (this server has managed updates). Neither account works on my Windows 11 computer. I use a local group policy to limit my windows updates to when I want them. Something changed July 10/11 to break it. Like everyone else I've tried logging in and out.

Since yesterday morning, I have been trying to use the aloud voice tool to correct my text in Word, as I always do, but the robotic and unpleasant voice is the only one I get. A sign says that I have to sign in to Windows in order to chose the voice and despite the fact I have signed in many times, I still get the robotic and unpleasant voice. I have been two days trying to solve this problem, but It’s been impossible. The aloud voice for corrections is an important tool of work for me as a writer, please help.
